Lo Spazio Vuoto (Italy) by Stefano P. Testa, Alberto Ceresoli
On the night of October 13, 1990, Luisa takes her own life by jumping from the sixth floor of the hospital in Montichiari. She is nineteen and has just given birth to her second child. After a brief stay in an orphanage, Alberto and his brother are adopted by a family from Bergamo and grow up with no memory of their biological parents. More than thirty years later, Alberto returns to the origins of his family story to piece together, through places, photographs, and testimonies, the lost memory of his mother Luisa and confront the absence that has marked his life.
